‘Knots & Colours’ mini cake smash studio set is inspired by the stages of development from infant to toddler celebrating the first milestone of your child!
The weaves represent the intricacies of infant development which translated to our interpretation of having yarn elements within our set: macrame, tassels & poms poms. Your child’s development is just like each artisanal handwoven piece within our set, laborious ‘heart’ work from one stage to another. It’s a milestone worth celebrating!
A cozy bohemian playroom with pops of colours! Presenting a 2m macrame feature wall coupled with cosy soft furnishings: pillows, a teepee and soft toys.
Set is styled accordingly to the gender of your child by playing with colors through the cake, props, and movable furnishings.

01What do you mean by baby-friendly smash cakes?
Baby friendly smash cakes are sugarless and eggless
02What if my baby has allergies?
Do let us know beforehand and we will work out/suggest an alternative smash item for your child.
03What are the pax limitations for your studio set?
This set design will only be able to accommodate up to 5 pax (2 adults, 3 children).
04I'm looking to have my extended family join the shoot, would a single photo session allow ample time to photograph the various groups?
As the set only allows a maximum of 5 pax (2 adults 3 children), we can only cater the stipulated number for the images to turn out well! For families that are looking to include extended families for the photo session, we would suggest booking our larger thematic set design as we will be able to cover more pax there!
05What should I bring along for my child?
You can look to bring some of your child’s favourite toy or snack to get them to feel comfortable within the space.
06How is the flow of shoot like?
We will start off the session with some family portraits followed by solo shots of the baby before the mess begins for the cake smash!
07How old would be the best time for my child to do a cake smash photoshoot?
10 - 12 months will be a good time as that’s when they can sit independently and also recognise people!
08How many outfits should I bring along for the baby and ourselves?
2-3 outfits for the baby , 1 to change out to after the session and the other 2 can be swapped around for more looks within each shot.
Parents should bring along another spare outfit to change out to as cake smashing can get messy!
09What time should I arrive?
We recommend all Clients arrive 10 minutes prior to the allocated time slot. To ensure all slots have sufficient shooting time, we will be unable to extend time slots for late arrivals.
10What should I take note of before making the booking?
Clients have to take note of their child's nap and meal times and avoid those to ensure a smoother shoot.
The Client has to ensure that all attendees are informed of all details of the photoshoot. The Onlookers will only be liaising with the main Point of Contact.
All attendees are to be punctual for the photoshoot as we strictly follow the booking timings allotted to each Client.
11How long will it take for images to be returned?
The lead time for us to return the edited soft copies are within 7-10 working days!
12Due to unforeseen circumstances, my family member is unable to attend the photoshoot on the date of booking?
Clients are allowed to reschedule their photoshoot up to 72 hours prior to their session via Acuity Scheduling. Hirers may click "Change Appointment" via the automated confirmation email to reschedule to their preferred open slots.
In the event a rescheduling is required within 72 hours prior to the photoshoot, Clients have to contact us at hello@theonlookers.co with their confirmation email to request for rescheduling. There will be an administration fee of $100 for rescheduling within 72 hours for the missed opportunity on the originally intended booking slot.
The $150 deposit will be held till your next booking for the following 6 months, from the original date of the shoot.
13How do I make payment?
A deposit must be made upon booking. The balance payment can be made via Bank Transfer or PayNow at the end of the session.
14Is the deposit refundable?
The deposit payment to secure your booking is strictly not refundable.
15Is there a changing room in the studio?
Yes, we have one changing room and one toilet. However, there aren’t any shower facilities. Do bring along baby wipes to clean your child.
16Can we bring along our pets and are they considered a pax?
Yes, our studio is pet-friendly. However, do ensure that the pets are potty-trained. Every pet is counted as one pax.
17Does your editing include retouching/Photoshop (eg. skin smoothening, removing of blemishes, slimming, removing unwanted objects)?
Photos returned are only subjected to basic adjustments like color grading and exposure adjustments.
Any other retouching required would be subjected to an additional fee starting from $5 onwards.
18Can we get the RAW images?
We strictly do not send over RAW images as they are unedited and we look to retain creative control over the images taken by us.
After each shoot, our team will filter out substandard images and send over the photos based on the package requirements.
